The Smarties lab is framed within the department of Informatics and Telematics, of the Harokopio University of Athens. The lab is located in a newly erected building of the University (9, Omirou str., 17778, Athens, Greece).

The main objective of the lab is to conduct research and development in all areas related to telecommunication networks, services and applications. Through its research and development activities, the lab aims at enhancing the department’s and the University’s research priorities and directions and therefore contribute towards the realization of a human-centric Information and Communication Society.

The lab’s members have been conducting research for numerous years in areas related to the design, management and performance evaluation of high-speed telecommunication infrastructures and services, healthcare and transportation, service-oriented architectures, business process management, techno-economics engineering in telecommunication networks and information systems, cloud computing, system of systems engineering (SoS), e-government and e-commerce applications, and software engineering.
